First-Ever Outfit Post: Flower Power
After seeing the fashionable and summer chic way my sister was dressed, I asked her to snap some photos of her outfit, for this blog’s first-ever outfit post. I was so happy with the end result that I’ve decided to add a new Personal Style section to this blog.

The floral printed top, was a steal…just $5 at H&M! The flower hair accessory was also from H&M, $3.

End of Summer Hottest Trend – Leopard Print

I absolutely adore this season’s latest trend fixation – leopard print. It’s become the new black, or neutral, that you can wear just about anything with. It’s hard to walk into any fashion store and not find pieces with solid black spots peppered against a golden hue, mimicking the look of a leopard’s coat. Leopard print does have a sexy allure to it, and you can unleash your inner wild side with small pieces, or adorn yourself with a full-printed jumpsuit. Here are some of my faves:

Sexy Gym Workouts

Traditional workouts are a thing of the past. Gone are the days when women attended fitness sessions reminiscent of their high school gym classes. Now, you can attend can attend sultry classes that will let you burn calories and break out a sweat while, in the words of Ludacris, “shaking your money-maker like somebody ’bout to pay ya.”
Pole Dancing
Perhaps the most popular sexy gym workout sweeping the nation is pole dancing. Yes, that’s right, the pole is not just for strip clubs anymore, as many fitness chains and private studios are springing up all over the place offering the saucy aerobic exercise which allows you to enhance posture; develop upper body and core strength, and improve flexibility. And, believe me you have to be flexible in a class that requires you to hold yourself upside down on a pole while spreading your legs in a V shape over your head. Many who take pole dancing classes believe that it improves their self-confidence and is a fun way to burn calories. It should be noted that there are many dangers of attempting pole dancing, so it is necessary to find a certified professional pole dance instructor to teach you how to “work” the pole safely.

Exotic Chair
Another new sensual fitness craze is exotic chair dancing. I recently tried a class at Crunch Gym called Hot Seat, and let me tell you, it really was a workout. After learning a high intense cardio routine with our very special prop, a chair, all of the women in the class were panting and sweating heavily. We also spent 10 minutes of the class using the chair to assist us in a very intense abs workout. By the end of the class I went home knowing a sexy chair routine, and feeling very liberated.

Burlesque
Burlesque is another sexy fitness phenomenon. With props such as feather boas, fans, fishnets and high heels, flirty participants shimmy their way to better fitness. While dancing to upbeat music, participants heart rates are increased, and they are able to isolate and strengthen certain muscles while doing core work on the chairs.

Bellydancing
Lastly, women can channel their inner Shakira by taking bellydancing classes, and in the words of the Ying Yang Twins
, “shake it like a salt shaker.” Benefits of the workout include strengthening and tightening abs and obliques, as well as toning arms. Since there is a lot of shaking and isolations, bellydancing is a great cardiovascular workout and helps increase energy and strength.

Ippolita Jewelry Preview Event
Yesterday I attended an event to preview the latest collection by jewelry designer Ippolita. Launched in 1999, her fine jewelry collection consists of beautiful handcrafted bangles, necklaces, rings, bracelets and more, all of which evoke the flair of her native Italy. There’s something for everyone in the Ippolita collection from simple, understated pieces, to glamorous jewelry that will make sure you stand out in a crowd.
Tables were filled with the classic designer jewelry and included Ippolita's signature gold pieces.
The incorporation of bright colored gemstones in the Rock Candy collection makes the jewelry exciting and distinctive.
I am a huge fan of the Glamazon Goddess collection (pictured above), especially the oversized hooped earrings and hand-hammered linked chains. At the event, we were given the opportunity to style a model with our favorite pieces, and I made sure she had on several pieces from the Glamazon Goddess collection (I’ll post the pic of the model as soon as I get it).
I love the edgy, handcrafted look of the jewelry.
My favorite color selection from the Rock Candy collection are the Black Onyx pieces, which look so stylish and elegant. You can never go wrong with the color black.

New Obsession: The Kardashian Kollection
So I have to admit it, I have been eagerly awaiting the launch of the Kardashian sisters new clothing line for Sears. Honestly, with the success of running their own clothing store, I was surprised that they would design a line to be featured in the stores of a major retailer, but I’m happy they did. The fashion line is exactly what I would except from the trio: figure-hugging clothes, sexy platforms, and glamorous jewelry. The line called, Kardashian Kollection, includes all of the above, in addition to sunglasses, belts, lingerie and handbags.
It was definitely no surprise that during the online 30% off 72-hour pre-sale, which launched August 8th, a majority of the items sold out quickly. Missed the pre-sale? I’ve seen some interesting things done in the fashion world, and nothing has intrigued me more than fashion inspired by food.
Joy Campia
Joy Campia is an artist who focuses on particularly crocheted sculpture and wearable art. None of the wearable art she creates is mass-produced, and due to the one-of-a-kind nature of each piece, they are quite pricy. The food dresses (the hamburger dress has sold) are in the $900 range, and smaller pieces are around $180.
