New: Pureology Reviving Red Hair Care Line

Pureology Reviving Red
On Thursday, January 31st, I had the opportunity to attend an event to learn more about Reviving Red, a new hair care line developed by Pureology for red and copper color-treated hair. People with red hair often contend with fading and color bleeding; this hair care line makes it possible for red and copper treated hair to last up to 30 washes. The system includes a unique blend of oils to nourish, illuminate, and protect the hair from free radical aggressors. Reviving Red also delivers lycopene, a powerful antioxidant found in tomatoes and other red fruits, to help prevent color bleeding. The line includes a shampoo, conditioner, Caring Oil, and most notably, a color-depositing conditioning treatment. To learn more about the Reviving Red hair care line, please click here.

Get Your Hair Done for FREE

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Lately, I’ve been contemplating adding highlights to my hair. I have never had my hair dyed before, and decided that if this is something, I really want to do, then it should only be done by a professional. But, once I started researching different salons that could do the job, I was deterred because of the price. So here I sit with my lackluster hair, unwilling to splurge, but wanting this season’s hottest ombré hair trend.

However, my lusted-after highlights may not be as far away as I thought. Last week I attended an open house event at L’Oreal Professional Products Academy, located at 435 Hudson Street in the West Village, NYC. The Academy tests out the various new L’Oreal USA Professional Product brands such as Redken, Pureology, and Matrix, on hair models, who are the first to experience new salon services and treatments before they are offered to the public. Models receive salon services including color, styling, perms and straightening, to name a few, and it’s all for free.

The L’Oreal Professional Products Academy is currently recruiting hair models, both men and women, for testing of new services and treatments. In order to become a model one must:

  1. Attend a 15 minute evaluation and allergy test.
  2. Meet with a licensed cosmetologist to determine which salon services are right for your hair type.
  3. After completing the above two steps, participants will be scheduled for a free hair color, styling, relaxer, straightening, or treatment appointment.

L’Oreal Professional Products Academy, offers many perks, other than free salon services. Models receive free professional products to use at home and a 75% off pass to use at the L’Oreal Employee Company Store on hair, makeup, nail and skin care products. So what are you waiting for? Pureology’s Perfect 4 Platinum Brilliant Shine Kit

P 4 P Brilliant Blonde Box

I’ve always envied the vibrant, silky smooth hair of models seen in advertisements. No matter what I do, my hair always seems to look dull, with no volume and lots of frizz. I recently gave Pureology’s Perfect 4 Platinum Brilliant Shine Kit a try. The system is infused with protein-rich Keravis and plant extracts, and was created to help repair damage, while strengthening and softening hair. With the arrival of summer, the harsh rays of the sun are bound to wreak havoc on hair, so finding a great product to combat my frayed tresses is high on my beauty priority list.

This kit was provided by a pr firm for review.

What the kit includes:

o Perfect4Platinum Shampoo (8.5 oz) and Condition (8.5 oz) featuring Zero Waste Packaging

o Highly concentrated ZeroSulfate® 250mL shampoos offer 70+ shampoos per bottle

o100% recyclable bottles feature the latest FDA-approved, 50% post-consumer recycled High-density polyethylene (HDPE) materials for unparalleled safety and environmental sustainability.

o Perfect4Platinum Shampoo (1.7 oz), Condition (1.7 oz) and MiracleFiller (0.5 oz) and ReconstructRepair (6 packets)

Why I like it:

  • The shampoo is a super chic shade of chrome blue and has a sweet citrus floral scent. It lathers really well and rises off easily.
  • After rising out the conditioner my hair was noticeably softer, so I didn’t even think it was necessary to use the ReconstructRepair hair mask the kit comes with; but, I did and it’s a great product. I like that I only had to leave it in for 5 minutes and rinse. The current hair mask I use requires me to leave it on from 15-30 minutes.
  • Even though the product is targeted towards blondes (especially those with highlighted hair), its nourishing power did wonders on my brunet locks, revealing silky-smooth, shiny hair.

The Pureology Perfect 4 Platinum Brilliant Shine Kit will be available in salons nationwide for $61 in June, and in conjunction with the product’s launch, Pureology will be donating $20,000 to support Global Green USA with its mission of fostering a global shift towards a sustainable and secure world. In addition to donating to Global Green USA, the brand continues to implement green initiatives by using 100% recyclable bottles; using Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified cardboard boxes made from 100% recycled fibers; and, by adding educational messages on all the boxes.
