Friday, February 3, 2012, will mark National Wear Red Day®, an annual event that encourages Americans to wear red as a symbol of their support for women’s heart health awareness. In February 2003, The Heart Truth® campaign launched the Red Dress as the national symbol to inspire women to take better care of their cardiovascular health, and to build awareness of heart disease among woman. Heart disease is often perceived as something than mainly affects men; however, it is actually the leading cause of death among women. Since the red dress has now become synonymous with heart health, I thought I’d look all over the web to find some of my favorite dresses and hopefully, inspire you to wear red on Friday. After you flaunt your sexy silhouette in a fabulous red dress, you can hang onto it to wear in a few weeks…Valentine’s Day is right around the corner
Note: Men can participate too by wearing a red tie or shirt.
When you buy shoes, do you pay for the designer name brand or the fashionable style? If you see shoes by high-end designers that you covet, but can’t afford the designer price tag, it’s very easy find similar styles that look just as good, but won’t break your bank account. Take a look at some of the shoes below. Can you spot the expensive designer footwear from the cheaper version?
I thought it was absolutely hilarious when Renee Graziano accessorized her outfit with a brass knuckle purse when going to meet up for drinks with other members of the cast of “Mob Wives,” in the episode that aired this past Sunday. The bag she was carrying was the 1st edition Black Glitter Too Fast Brass Knuckle Purse, which has been discontinued. But, you can get Too Fast’s newer version in Glossy Black for $40 here.
In the spirit of Renee’s handbag/weapon, here are some other knuckle clutches sure to keep your haters at bay:
If you’ve been reading this blog long enough, you know that I love accessories. I’ve been very lucky to have been invited to the showrooms of many high-end designers to give you an inside peek of their latest collections. But, I am aware that not many of you can afford an $84,000 watch from Rafaello & Company (it doesn’t hurt to dream, though!).
So, today, allow me to introduce you to t+j Designs, an accessories company that consists of budget friendly jewelry, necklaces, bracelets and earrings, offering you the opportunity to show off your high-end taste, without the high-end price tag. Started by Tiffany and Jen, two fashionable sisters, t+j Designs features something for every fashionista on a budget. If you like a more glamorous look, for example, then check out their Luxe Collection. Or, if you have a more funky style, then chose one of their many colored pieces, such as the Purple Rhinestone Ribbon Bracelet ($7.00, shown below).
In addition to affordable prices, you can get sale items for up to 70% off, and shipping is free on all orders until January 31, 2012! (U.S. only).

A few days ago I did a review of the Julep Maven program, which gives you access to the hottest hand, nail and foot care products for just $19.99 a month. Subscribers of the program take a fun style quiz online, and experts work behind-the-scenes to select products customized for the fabulous maven that you are. What I like the most about the Maven Box is that most of the products are full-sized, unlike other beauty box programs.
I loved my Julep Maven box so much that I decided that one of you should have the opportunity to try it out for yourself for free! So, for the first giveaway for 2012, I’m giving away a Julep Maven Box. Click here to see the products that were included in my Maven box, so you can get an idea of what your box might include.
If you don’t win the contest, don’t fret, because I have a special deal open to everyone! The Julep Maven program usually costs $19.99 a month to join. But, now, for a limited time, if you use the code DELIALICIOUS, you can have your first box of the trendiest nail colors delivered to your door for just $5.
Here are the rules to enter the contest:
1. Leave us a comment here with your email (= 1 entry).
For one more additional entry to increase your chance of winning:
2. “Follow” Delialicious Picks on Twitter then leave a comment here letting us know that you did (= 1 entry).
Each comment counts as an entry. The winner will be chosen using random.org. For example if the number 4 is selected and your comment is the 4th one down, you will be the winner, so multiple comments increase your chances of winning. You are only allowed one comment for each entry method.
Additional Rules: This giveaway is open to residents of the US only. You must be 18+ to enter. One winner will be chosen at random on January 19, 2012. All entries must be received by January 18th 11:59pm EST.

- Julep Glow On Age Defying Hand Brightner
- Taylor Julep Nail Vernis

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to visit the showroom of Rafaello & Company Jewelers. Located in New York City’s Diamond District, the company’s clientele reads like a who’s who in the entertainment and sports industry. Celebrities such as Drake, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Carmelo Anthony (NBA), and Dwight Freeney (NFL), to name a few, have all donned customized pieces by the designers – not bad for a high-end jewelry line that has only been around for three years.
Launched in 2009 by Rafael Aranbayev, Eric Aranbayev, and Gabriel “The Jeweler” Jacobs, Rafaello & Co. has emerged as one of the leading go-to places for luxury jewelry. The company features everything from glamorous iced-out necklaces to watches to earrings, for both males and females.
Their jewelry may be icy, but their hearts are not. Ten percent of the net proceeds from their Blackout collection are donated to international charity, All As One, as an effort to raise awareness to the needs of Sierra Leone.
After seeing some of the magnificent pieces first-hand, I can see why the top stars choose Rafaello & Co. I was left completely hypnotized by the sheer brilliance and intricate detailing of each piece, and if you keep scrolling, you will see why.
My name is Delialicious, and I’m a chocoholic. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I consume so much chocolate, that I have considered joining a chocolate addicts support group (such groups do exist; I’ve Googled it), but if loving chocolate is wrong, then I don’t want to be right. Heck, I’m eating chocolate right now as I write this blog post. There are many people out there who proudly admit their chocoholism, and on the flip side, there are many people I know who claim that they never touch the stuff. I call them “closet chocoholics.” My sister, for example, claims she doesn’t eat chocolate, but whenever it’s in the house, it mysteriously goes missing and evidence of the candy’s wrappers reside in her purse (and around the circumference of her mouth). Not many people can resist the delectable aroma of velvety, smooth, melt-in-your mouth chocolate. Admit it; you’re taste buds are being tantalized right now. If you are on a diet or watching your sugar intake, don’t fret because you can still indulge…in chocolate beauty products. Check them out below, but please note, although it may be tempting, none of the products show below are for consumption.
1. Bellaboo Sweet Sin Chocolate Mask, $7.50
2. Dark Chocolate Espresso Bean Lip Balm, $3.95
3. Women’s Delicious Chocolat by Gale Hayman Eau de Toilette Spray – 3.3 oz., $29.99
4. Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder, $29.00
5. Chocolate Milk Body Wash & Bubble Bath, $35.00
6. Fruit Pigmented Mascara – Dark Chocolate, $18.00
7. Bella Luccè’s Peruvian Chocolate Sugar Scrub, $10.50
It’s winter, and if there is one fashion accessory that never goes out of style during this time, it’s gloves. Gloves are a necessity for the cold, wintery weather, but that shouldn’t mean that you have to sacrifice style. Keep your hands warm and still be a fashion trendsetter with some of the cool picks below.
