Last week I attended the 10th Anniversary arty of New Beauty magazine where a variety of different beauty companies were on hand to celebrate the magazine, as well as show off their products to the room filled with beauty experts. Some of the items on display were products that we all may be familiar with, while others are newcomers eager to make their presence known on the beauty scene. Here are a few my top picks for products to watch out for this year.
Real Techniques Bold Metallics Collection – Developed by Youtube sensation Pixiwoo’s Sam and Nic, this new collection of brushes were inspired by luxury. The soft bristles featured tapered tips and are engineered for perfect weight distribution when tipped toward the face while being used. The brushes are available at ulta.com and boots.com.
BeautyDNA – This new subscription box service will deliver a full-sized product to your door every moth customized to your skin needs. Subscribers fill out a detailed Beauty Profile, the system makes a product match, and then the product is shipped directly to you with a detailed report explaining why it was selected specifically for you.
SuperSmile – This professional at-home teeth whitening line has been around since 1987. The system removes tooth stains without bleaches or abrasives, when users follow the 6-minute regimen developed by the company that includes Activating Rods applied to the teeth, brushing with the Whitening Toothpaste and rinsing with its Whitening Pre-Rinse.
Intellishade – This anti-aging tinted moisturizer is available in Original Radiant and a new matte formula and features spf 45 and features one shade that blends in with every skin tone. It’s a multi-tasking product, perfect for women on the go as it is a sunscreen, moisturizer, makeup and ant-aging product in one.
Jennifer Hudson stunned on the red carpet on March 28th wearing a fabulous black jumpsuit to the 28th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in Inglewood, California. The all-black fitted number stood on its own with a sexy v-neckline, while the only bright pops of color were seen with the purple lipstick she rocked and the blue strap on the sassy sandals that adorned her feet. If you’ve viewed my Instagram page lately (@delia_licious) you saw a quick snapshot I did using colors from Estée Lauder’s new Double Wear Stay-In-Place Eye Pencil collection.
Available in 16 gorgeous shades, the 12-hour wear eye pencils are not just long-lasting, but waterproof, so you can define your eyes and not have to work about the product disappearing or smudging. I wear the colors from day-to-night and found that they are in fact long-wearing and do not fade at all. I have the teal, gold and sapphire blue, and the colors are bright and vibrant; moreover, they really do apply true to the way they look on the outside of the pencil.
When I applied the product, it glided on smoothly and effortlessly. I also liked that the pencil features a smudger on the other end for to facilitate creating a smokey eye look. I actually used the smudger to create the winged eyeliner look seen in the picture above.

I went for a short walk outside this weekend and realized something awful: winter is coming. On Tuesday, October 14th, I attended the launch party for CAT Footwear’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection at their new Pop-Up location at the Roger Smith Hotel in Midtown Manhattan.
The event was held to celebrate the company’s original 1990 “Colorado,” boot, which is now returning to retail shelves and will be available in the U.S. for the first time this fall.
Prior to the event, five NYC based artists were challenged to come up with creative designs using the Colorado boot as their blank canvas. The result was a spectacular display of out-of-the box creativity that incorporated the use of a wide range of various materials, colors and patterns. Check out the gallery below to view some of their artwork. The featured artists included Ivan Orama, James Gulliver Hancock, Liz Lomax, Amanda Dolan, and MIsha Tyutyunik.
For the entire month of October, CAT Footwear’s Pop-Up shop will be open to consumers from October 21st – 28th, 11am – 7pm daily, and will feature 3 limited edition styles from the UK that have never been available to the U.S. consumer.
