This week I tested one of Victoria’s Secret’s newest fragrance, Victoria’s Secret Seduction Dark Orchid ($49-$65), which launched in stores and online in October 2012. The wearer of the fragrance is described as a glamorous provocateur, with a fetish for high fashion. Whether you choose to wear it as an everyday spritz, or to induce the senses on a night filled with satin blindfolds and gilded handcuffs, it’s definitely worth a try.
Sultry notes of Midnight Orchid, Crushed Plum and Oud Wood combine to create an enticing fragrance that can easily be worn day or night. It has a very girly, sweet, fresh scent, that isn’t too strong. It’s the kind of subtle aroma that sneaks up on people as they talk to you and wonder where that amazing fragrance is radiating from, as opposed to the kind of perfume that invades the air and lets everyone know you’ve arrived. The scent lingers for most of the day, but a quick touch up is needed if you want it to last way past sundown.
In addition to an eau de parfum, the Secret Seduction Dark Orchid scent is available as a candle, fragrance wash and as a luxurious lotion.
Wedding Season officially kicks off after Memorial Day, and as thousands of couples get ready to walk down the aisle, fashion houses are emerging with their first-ever bridal collections. Here are the ones to watch:
Sexy Little Bride™ collection by Victoria’s Secret
It’s hard to believe that the world’s most glamorous lingerie line, Victoria Secret, has never had a special collection dedicated to bridal underclothing. Now, thirty-four years later since its 1977 launch, they finally have introduced a sultry line featuring lingerie, veils, beauty products and accessories for a bride-to-be’s bachelorette night, wedding day, and honeymoon.
Kate Spade New York – Wedding Bells
Kate Spade recently launched their first-ever bridal themed collection, Wedding Bells (and Whistles). The line includes 8 little white and off-white dresses, as well as accessories, shoes, bridesmaid attire. The dresses in the line are defiantly not for the traditional bride, and are very playful and look more like cocktail dresses than something a bride would wear on her wedding day. The accessories and shoes, on the other hand, are absolutely stunning.
The annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show will air tonight Tuesday, November 30th. The show, pre-taped on November 10th, will showcase some of the world’s most glamorous lingerie. This year, Victoria Secret Angel Adriana Lima was bestowed the honor of opening the show and wearing a dazzling 142-carat $2 million fantasy bra designed by celebrity jeweler Damiani, featuring diamonds, sapphires and topaz. Models donned their wings and strutted down the catwalk, while special performances were made by Akon and Katy Perry. Perry herself attracted her own attention on the catwalk with two eye-catching designs by Todd Thomas. Catch all the action tonight on CBS at 10/9C.
